Limited Manufacturer's Warranty

Nordic Wave provides a Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty covering specific defects or malfunctions that may occur with your Nordic Wave Viking Cold Plunge System, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. This warranty is intended to provide peace of mind for your purchase; however, it is important to understand the scope and limitations of the coverage.

If your product is damaged during shipping, you must notify our customer service team within 7 days of delivery by emailing support@thenordicwave.com and providing photos and relevant details. Failure to report shipping damage within this timeframe may result in denial of the warranty claim.

Upon purchase, Nordic Wave customers receive a 5-Year Limited Warranty applicable solely to non-commercial, in-home, or residential use of the Viking Cold Plunge vessel or tub. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions.

Note: The water chiller is covered separately under a different warranty period outlined below.

Warranty for Vessel / Tub

Nordic Wave guarantees that the vessel or tub will remain free from cracks and material defects when used for its intended purpose and maintained according to the provided guidelines.

This coverage applies only if the product is installed, operated, and maintained according to the instructions in the user manual.

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Improper installation or relocation
  • Misuse, abuse, or accidents
  • Unauthorized modifications
  • Failure to perform required maintenance

This warranty also does not cover damage to surrounding surfaces, structures, or furnishings resulting from the proper or improper use of the Viking Cold Plunge System. Customers should take precautions to prevent potential water damage.

Warranty for Water Chiller

The water chiller component is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty from the date of delivery.

To maintain warranty coverage for the water chiller, customers must follow all maintenance procedures outlined in the user manual, including:

  • Regular filter replacement
  • Maintaining proper water quality
  • Using Nordic Wave approved filters only

Failure to follow maintenance guidelines, including neglecting filter replacement, may void the warranty for the chiller component.

Nordic Wave is not responsible for damage or malfunctions caused by improper maintenance or neglect.

Warranty Limitations

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser (or the original owner if the product was given as a gift) and covers defects discovered within the applicable warranty period.

The warranty is non-transferable and does not cover any defects or damages occurring outside of the warranty period.

Nordic Wave reserves the right to deny warranty claims that do not meet the terms and conditions outlined in this policy.

Warranty Exclusions

Misuse or Abuse

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse or abuse of the Viking Cold Plunge System. Misuse includes, but is not limited to, using the system for purposes other than its intended use or subjecting it to conditions beyond its designed capacity.

Nordic Wave is not responsible for personal injury or property damage resulting from misuse or abuse.

Failure to Winterize

Nordic Wave chillers must be properly winterized according to our Winterization Guidelines.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in internal freezing or other damage and will void warranty coverage.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Properly draining the chiller and hoses
  • Moving the unit into a temperature-controlled environment when temperatures fall below 14°F (-10°C), or below 32°F (0°C) when the unit is not in use
  • Installing insulated sleeves on the inline hose strainer and filter canister
  • Ensuring the unit runs continuously when required
  • Following all additional Winterization Guidelines

Any damage caused by freezing or failure to properly winterize is not covered under warranty.

Product Modifications

Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or alterations to the Viking Cold Plunge System will void the warranty.

Repairs must be conducted by a Nordic Wave approved certified technician. Use of non-approved service providers will void warranty coverage.

Neglect or Lack of Maintenance

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from neglect or failure to maintain the system.

This includes:

  • Failure to replace filters
  • Improper water maintenance
  • Failure to follow cleaning protocols
  • Use of third-party replacement filters

Filters must be purchased directly from Nordic Wave to maintain warranty coverage.

Delayed Installation

Each Viking Cold Plunge system is fully tested before shipment. As part of this process, the chiller may retain residual water.

The system must be installed and operated within 30 days of delivery to prevent issues such as mildew, mold, or stagnant water buildup.

These conditions are not covered under warranty.

Customer Responsibilities:

  • Install the system within 30 days of delivery
  • Follow all installation and maintenance instructions
  • Clean and sanitize the system prior to use

If installation is delayed beyond 30 days, Nordic Wave recommends performing a full system flush and sanitization before operating the unit.

Natural Disasters or Environmental Damage

The warranty does not cover damage caused by natural disasters or environmental conditions including:

  • Hurricanes
  • Floods
  • Earthquakes
  • Tornadoes
  • Mudslides
  • Extreme heat

Customers should unplug the electrical chiller unit and isolate water supply lines during such events.

Tampering

The warranty is void if there is evidence of tampering with the system, including unauthorized attempts to repair or modify the electrical chiller unit.

Damage Due to Drops or Mishandling

The warranty does not cover physical damage caused by drops, impacts, mishandling, or improper transportation of the product.

Accidental or External Damage

Damage caused by external factors is not covered under warranty, including but not limited to:

  • Fire
  • Voltage fluctuations
  • Vandalism
  • Water intrusion
  • Sand
  • Insects

Shipping or Transportation Damage

Shipping damage must be reported within 7 days of delivery.

To file a claim:

  • Inspect the product upon delivery
  • Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt
  • Submit photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label
  • Retain all packaging materials until the claim is resolved

Damage reported after 7 days may not be covered.

Proof of Purchase Requirement

Customers must provide proof of purchase to process a warranty claim.

Accepted documentation includes:

  • Original purchase invoice
  • Receipt from an authorized Nordic Wave retailer
  • Nordic Wave order confirmation email

If you have lost your invoice, contact Nordic Wave Customer Support with your order number or account details.

Protect Your Investment

The Viking Cold Plunge System is a premium product designed for long-term use. To maintain warranty coverage, customers must follow all installation, maintenance, and usage guidelines.

Nordic Wave’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective components, at Nordic Wave’s sole discretion.

Nordic Wave shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the product.

Chiller Repair or Replacement Shipping Policy

If a Nordic Wave chiller requires repair or replacement under warranty, customers are responsible for a $250 flat shipping and packaging fee.

This fee covers professional packaging and shipping in both directions.

The fee must be paid before the repair process can begin. After payment is received, Nordic Wave will provide packaging materials and shipping instructions.

Warranty Nullification Due to Third-Party Freight Forwarding

The warranty is null and void if the product is transported, reshipped, or handled by a third-party freight forwarder.

Nordic Wave is not responsible for damages, defects, or losses that occur after the product has been transferred to a freight forwarder or secondary shipping provider.

Customers who choose to use a freight forwarder assume all risks related to transportation and handling of the product.
