Nordic Wave, Inc. Warranty Policy

Updated as of: 13 January 2025

Limited Manufacturer's Warranty

We are pleased to offer you a Limited Manufacturer's Warranty that covers specific defects or malfunctions that may occur with your Nordic Wave Viking Cold Plunge System, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. This warranty is provided to offer peace of mind for your purchase; however, it is important to understand the scope and limitations of the coverage.

If your product is damaged during shipping, please notify our customer service team within 7 days of delivery at support@thenordicwave.com, providing photos and relevant information. Failure to report shipping damage within this timeframe may result in the denial of a warranty claim.

Upon purchase, Nordic Wave customers receive a 5-Year Limited Warranty applicable solely to non-commercial, in-home, or residential use of the Viking Cold Plunge vessel or tub. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. Please note that this warranty specifically excludes the water chiller, which is addressed separately below.

Warranty for Vessel/Tub:

Nordic Wave guarantees that the vessel or tub will remain free from cracks and material defects when used for its intended purpose and maintained according to the provided guidelines. This coverage applies only if the product is installed, operated, and maintained as directed in the user manual. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

Improper installation or relocation.

Misuse, abuse, or accidents.

Unauthorized modifications.

Failure to perform reasonable and necessary maintenance.

Additionally, any damage caused to surrounding surfaces, structures, or furnishings resulting from the proper or improper use of the Viking Cold Plunge System is not covered by this warranty. Customers are advised to take precautions to prevent water damage to surrounding areas.

Warranty for Water Chiller:

The water chiller component is covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty from the date of delivery. An extended warranty option is available for purchase. To maintain warranty coverage for the water chiller, customers must adhere to all maintenance steps outlined in the user manual, including regular filter replacement (must use Nordic Wave filters) and ensuring proper water quality.

Failure to follow the maintenance guidelines for the water chiller, including neglecting filter replacement, will result in the voiding of the warranty for this component. Nordic Wave is not responsible for damage or malfunctions caused by improper maintenance or neglect.

Warranty Limitations:

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser (or the original owner if the product was given as a gift) and covers defects discovered within the applicable warranty period. The warranty is non-transferable and does not cover any defects or damages that occur outside of the warranty period.

Nordic Wave reserves the right to deny any warranty claims that do not meet the terms and conditions outlined in this policy. For further assistance or clarification regarding your warranty coverage, please contact our customer support team.

Warranty Exclusions

Misuse or Abuse - The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse or abuse of the Viking Cold Plunge System. Misuse includes, but is not limited to, using the system for purposes other than its intended use or subjecting it to conditions that exceed its designed capacity. Damage caused by improper use is considered outside the scope of warranty coverage.

Modifications to the Original Product - Any unauthorized modifications, repairs, or alterations to the Viking Cold Plunge System will void the warranty. This includes modifications to the electrical chiller unit or any components of the system. Such changes can compromise the safety and functionality of the product, and Nordic Wave is not responsible for any resulting damage or malfunctions.

Neglect or Lack of Maintenance - Proper maintenance is essential for the long-term performance of the Viking Cold Plunge System. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from neglect, such as failing to replace filters, maintain water quality, or follow cleaning protocols outlined in the user manual. Warranty does not cover any damage to the system if any 3rd party replacement filters are used. Filters must be purchased directly from Nordic Wave. Customers are responsible for adhering to maintenance guidelines to ensure warranty protection.

Neglecting routine maintenance may also result in performance issues that could cause damage to surrounding property. Nordic Wave is not liable for such damage.

Delayed Installation - Each Viking Cold Plunge system is rigorously tested before shipment to ensure that all components are functioning properly. As part of this testing process, the chiller may retain residual water. Therefore, it is critical that customers install and operate their unit within 30 days of delivery to avoid potential issues related to improper storage.

Failure to install and run the unit within this 30-day window can result in conditions such as mildew, mold, or stagnant water buildup, particularly in the chiller. These conditions are not covered under the warranty, as they are considered a result of delayed installation and maintenance by the customer.

Customer Responsibility:
To maintain warranty coverage, customers must:

Exclusions:

If installation is delayed for any reason beyond 30 days, Nordic Wave recommends performing a complete system flush and sanitization before operating the unit. Failure to do so may compromise the system's performance and void warranty coverage.

Damage Caused by Natural Disasters or Environmental Factors -  Nordic Wave is not responsible for damage resulting from natural disasters or environmental factors, including hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, mudslides, heatwaves, and similar events. To protect your system during such occurrences, we recommend unplugging the electrical chiller unit and isolating water supply lines.

The warranty does not cover any damage resulting from failure to take reasonable precautions during such events.

Tampering -  The warranty is void if there is evidence of tampering with the Viking Cold Plunge System. This includes unauthorized troubleshooting or repair attempts on the electrical chiller unit. Repairs should only be conducted by certified technicians to preserve warranty coverage.

Damage Due to Drops - The warranty does not cover physical damage caused by drops, impacts, or mishandling of the Viking Cold Plunge System or any of its components. This includes cracked or broken parts resulting from improper handling or transportation.

Damage Due to Accidents or External Factors - Damage caused by accidents or external factors is not covered under the warranty. This includes, but is not limited to, damage from fire, voltage fluctuations, vandalism, water intrusion, sand, or insects. Customers are responsible for taking preventative measures to safeguard the system from such risks.

Nordic Wave disclaims any liability for damages resulting from failure to take necessary precautions to protect the system from external risks.

Damage to the product caused by shipping or transportation - At Nordic Wave, we strive to ensure that our products are delivered in excellent condition. However, damage caused during shipping or transportation must be reported within 7 days of delivery. To process a claim for shipping damage, the following steps are required:

Inspect the product upon receipt and note any visible damage on the delivery receipt.

Submit a claim by contacting Nordic Wave's customer service team within the 7-day period, providing detailed photos of the damaged product, packaging, and shipping label.

Exclusions: Damage reported after 7 days or without proper documentation (e.g., photos, delivery receipt) may not be covered under this warranty.

Failure to Present Proof of Purchase - The customer does not present a copy of the purchase invoice. To process any warranty claim, proof of purchase is required. This can include:

A copy of the original purchase invoice.

A receipt from an authorized Nordic Wave retailer.

An order confirmation email from Nordic Wave.

Failure to present proof of purchase will result in the denial of the warranty claim. We encourage all customers to retain their purchase documents for future reference.
